I was born and raised in Sheboygan Falls. 4th generation German with a touch of Dutch. Great Grandparents settled in Sheboygan and Cleveland. I grow up in a family of 5, a brother and 3 sisters. We were fortunate to be surrounded by extended family.

I graduated from Lakeland College and taught at New Holstein High School for 4 years. Then I changed careers and worked for Bemis as a shift leader and quality control technition for 4 years, and have made contributions to manufacturing improvements, cost savings, production planning, and 3 sigma (a revolution in quality improvement lead by Bemis). I left Bemis to become a department supervisor at Richardson Brother Furniture. I made contributions to production planning (improved work flow, production methods, and quality machining). After, I took a job at FibCo in manufacturing after a devastating fire. I made contributions that increased production substantially, became a salesman and increased customer base, and helped with new product design and development, prototype design, and investigated the start of 3D prototyping. Fibco was sold and I took a teaching job at LTC in the industrial plastics program. I was the only instructor so I was also the department head and program chair, meeting and working with the area plastic manufacturers. I also provided short term job training programs for the Hmong communities in Sheboygan and Manitowoc, and worked with developing in-house training programs for local manufacturers. After 4 years, LTC gave up the plastics program to MATC, so I was provided the opportunity to become the Fire Services Coordinator as the state implemented a more in-depth training program for both volunteer and professional fire departments. I also assisted in the delivery of Hazmat, rescue, and industrial Hazmat training. After another change in programming in the fire services area and I was without a job. It was time to regroup. I had just gotten married, and a new baby was on the way. I finished remodeling the hobby farm, and started taking classes to return to K-12 education. While going to Madison, I finished building the house I had started several years earlier. With the house done, and new certifications completed, I re-entered the workforce as the lead instructor of the new Door County Charter School, an at-risk charter school serving the needs of the four Door County school systems. After four years and funding changes I took a job in Merrill, WI, as the instructor of the afternoon and evening at-risk program, and some introspection of a new charter school planned for the upcoming year. After 5 years of working on the road, it was time to return home to the family. I took a job at Home Depot, and after 6 years, I had the opportunity to take a job at The Osthoff Resort, at which I am currently working as the Watersports Manager.
I think I am one of the luckiest men on the planet, as I have been able to appreciate the life that only can be appreciated if the community is intact and supportive. I have had the freedoms to work with many of the best and brightest people in Sheboygan Country, the state of Wisconsin, and by all accounts, the world. The people that I have met, and worked with and for, are leaders in the business and educational community.
We need to assure that our future, that of Wisconsin and Sheboygan is one, second to none,
We need strong support families,
a strong business community,
a strong educational community,
and a strong social support community,
for Wisconsin has always been a leader, and leaders lead, that's just what they do.
Great great grandparents immigrated from Germany to Cleveland and Sheboygan.
Most of my friends are common scene Democrats and Republicans and are willing to discuss debate, argue, and listen, then move forward in the interest of everyone.
I enjoy people, hunting, fishing, building, reading, and socializing.
All people make mistakes, those that become successful discover them early and change them.
